چکیده

Acupuncture at certain points on the body has been shown to have therapeutic effects in the treatment of various diseases [1–4]. Effect mechanism of acupuncture, electroacupuncture, and physical agents and their connections with the central nervous system have been the interest of many researchers. Integrity of the peripheral and central nervous systems is essential for acupuncture to be effective. It is generally thought that acupuncture, by stimulating the receptors in the area of acupuncture points, transmits a signal to a particular level of the central nervous system, which in turn influences the target organ. Somatosensory inputs from the skin and/ or muscle have been shown to be involved in the control of various autonomic functions [5,6]. In acupuncture application, Front-Mu points which are located on the ventral surface of the body are used in the treatment of visceral disease. In treatment, they are used to regulate the activity of internal organs either by tonifications or sedations [7]. The autonomic nervous system controls the visceral functions of the body. Acupuncture application is based on the fact that Front-Mu points stimulate related segmental autonomic nerves. In this report, we describe the relationship between the location of Front-Mu points and the autonomic nervous system.

Thorough Specification of the Neurophysiologic Processes Underlying Behavior and of Their Manifestation in EEG – Demonstration with the Go/No-Go Task

In this work we demonstrate the principles of a systematic modeling approach of the neurophysiologic processes underlying a behavioral function. The modeling is based upon a flexible simulation tool, which enables parametric specification of the underlying neurophysiologic characteristics. While the impact of selecting specific parameters is of interest, in this work we focus on the insights, w...

A Possible Common Neurophysiologic Basis for MDD, Bipolar Disorder, and Schizophrenia: Lessons from Electrophysiology

There is ample electrophysiological evidence of attention dysfunction in the EEG/ERP signal of major depressive disorder (MDD), bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. The reduced attention-related ERP waves show much similarity between MDD, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia, raising the question whether there are similarities in the neurophysiologic process that underlies attention dysfunction ...

The Neural Mechanism by Which the Dorsal Vagal Complex Mediates the Regulation of the Gastric Motility by Weishu (RN12) and Zhongwan (BL21) Stimulation

A large number of studies have been conducted to explore the mechanism of Back-Shu and Front-Mu points. While several lines of evidence addressed the acupuncture information of Shu acupoints and Mu acupoints gathering in the spinal cord, whether the convergence is extended to the high centre still remains unclear. The study selected gastric Mu points (RN12) and gastric Shu points (BL21) regulat...

The Influence of Low and Moderate Carotid Stenosis on Neurophysiologic Status of Patients Undergoing on-pump Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting

BACKGROUND Significant (>70%) extracranial stenosis of the internal carotid artery (ICA) is a known risk factor for brain damage in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). There is no clear evidence of the low and moderate ICA stenoses influence on the neurophysiologic status of patients after CABG. This work was aimed at studying the influe...

Influence of front row burden on fragmentation, Muckpile shape, Excavator cycle time, and back break in surface Limestone Mines

Front row burden is one of the key parameter to improve the bench blasting results. Improper design of the front row burden can create nuisances in the form of ground vibration, flyrock, back break or it may responsible for breakage of improper fragment size from the rockmass. Therefore, front row burden need to be optimised on the basis of proper scientific assessment. It has been proved that ...
